Spring Forward with a Style Refresh!

Contributed by Emma Callin & Chantal Barchard

My husband and I are fans of The Vinyl Cafe on CBC Radio, so of course we went to the live show when they were in Calgary last week.  The first story that Stuart McLean related was about Dave, the owner of the titular second-hand record store, impulse-buying an isolation tank and the hijinks that follow.  The story doesn't mention how Dave's wife takes the new purchase but I'm sure we can all imagine how we would react in her place!

Thankfully my husband reacts with cheerful resignation on the occasion I come home with something unexpected, though he usually has to deal with new clothing or accessories and not devices for sensory deprivation (yet).  He has only two questions when I impulse-buy something: 1. Can you afford it without spending your savings or going into debt? and 2. Will you use it enough to get your money's worth?  Of the two questions it's the second one that's hard to answer; it's easy enough to wear a piece for one event or in one way but creating versatility is much harder.

Rather than let rarely-used clothing and accessories take over your closet, the easiest way to make a piece more versatile is to get a second opinion on it - and we're very opinionated!  ^_^  So if you're looking for a little inspiration on getting a fresh look for spring (which will be here.. eventually) contact us about getting a free Style Refresh.

How does it work?  It's simple:
  • You receive the dedicated attention of a member of our team for a scheduled 1 hour appointment at Studio Intent boutique and bring items from your closet that you are looking to pair items with (or even photos for our reference).
  • Following your appointment, you will receive an email summary with notes and photo references of outfit pairings/suggestions for you.
  • There is no cost to you for this service. All that we ask is that you provide us with your feedback on the experience and if you enjoyed the service that you let your friends and family know about Studio Intent and the unique Canadian Made clothing we offer!
Why get a style refresh?

True to our name, we promote living with intention. If you intentionally add items to your wardrobe, you can invest in better quality pieces and can really LOVE everything that is in your closet.

As you take stock of clothing you may need to add to your closet this spring, rather than picking up garments that are disposable trends, our free style refresh service helps you add pieces into your wardrobe that work with garments you already own & love.

If you want some inspiration for considering a style refresh, check out The Project 333. They outline a great approach to creating a capsule wardrobe each season, which starts with creating your “I Love” pile of clothing as you unpack those Spring pieces and consider what you may need to add before you go shopping.
