Down to Earth Week in YYC

This coming week is Down to Earth Week here in Calgary, a celebration of local, sustainable living initiatives - Studio Intent is honoured to be involved again this year.  Among the events happening this week is April 15th's Sustainable Style YYC with Nicole Bridger, one of our most popular designers, presenting a keynote. We are in love with Nicole's gorgeous silk prints designed in collaboration with local artists and her buttery soft knits; her commitment to not only the environment but to the local community as well just make us love them even more!  

While many clothing brands do not make information on their environmental and social impact readily available to their customers, Nicole Bridger aims for transparency in her manufacturing process.  This means traceable, sustainable fabrics, fair trade factories in Nepal and a living wage in local Vancouver factories.  Nicole works directly with many of the people who make her clothes, with 90% of her line being made in her Vancouver factory.  

Nicole will be showcasing several looks from her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Sustainable Style YYC on April 15th, with a trunk show to follow here at Studio Intent April 16th to 18th.  This is a chance to check out the latest from Nicole Bridger Designs, and Nicole will also be available for style advice in-store on the 16th!  You can also check out a list of other events below:
