Seeing Double

If these photos look familiar it's because they are: all three are from previous posts.  What unites them is the same statement necklace by Toodlebunny, a favourite of mine.  If you've been following along for a while you might have noticed that we've styled it on other people as well, it's just that versatile.

Having the words "statement piece" attached to any accessory or item of clothing can make it seem like that item should be reserved for special occasions or used only with one outfit.  Yet even the most eye-catching necklace can work well with many outfits without dominating them.  This does involve some experimenting but just remember - when in doubt about how something will look, just try it on!

And if one particular outfit combination makes you look and feel great then repeat it.  Hence why this week I'm reusing photos from previous posts: I wanted to emphasize that there is nothing wrong with outfit repetition.  If a man can wear the same suit for a year - on television, no less - then it shouldn't make a difference if I wear the same outfit twice a week.  Besides the money saved from not buying clothes simply to have something new, wearing your clothes twice before washing them saves on your water and electricity bill and helps the environment too.

#30wears isn't just about how many ways I can style one piece (though I do thoroughly enjoy the styling challenge), it's also about choosing pieces that I'll love so much that I'll wear them 30 times - even if it's in the same combination every time!
