Get Lit

WorldTown Cosmetics collaboration

Probably the two biggest problems I've had with glitter makeup are that the product doesn't adhere well (causing fall out and sparkles everywhere) and that it isn't wearable everyday (and only gets used once/twice a year).  I do love sparkle though, which is why I went to Nicky - makeup artist and owner of WorldTown Cosmetics - to ask for some professional advice!  She introduced me to Lit Cosmetics, a Canadian company specializing in cosmetic glitter, as well as showing me how simple it is to use and the different techniques to make it more suitable to wear regularly.  Check out four different looks and their two-step techniques below!

Foil wash

Foil wash & sheer foil wash
Dampen a synthetic concealer or Lit Flat Liner brush with Lit Cosmetics Glitter base.
Pick up Lit Metals with base coated brush, and pat onto centre of the lid. Continue to pat and drag product across lid until desired amount of metallic finish is achieved.
Less base and more product will create a more opaque foiled look (see above), more base and less product will create a more sheered out look (see below).

Sheer foil wash

Liner
Dip liner brush or Lit Concealer brush in base, followed by Lit Metals.
Press product along lash line and gently drag to create desired liner effect.

Liner

Sheer shimmer wash
Apply a wash of cream-based product across entire lid (i.e. concealer, primer, cream shadow, etc.).
Using your index finger, pick up a small amount of Lit Metals and press onto centre of lid, blending out edges with fingertips.

Sheer shimmer wash

Lit Cosmetics differentiates between their Lit Metals (used in these tutorials) and their Lit Colours (more glitter, less foil) but both can be used in the same ways.  Which looks do you think you'd use the most?
